Miscellaneous Capper Torque Rings
Stiles maintains a large stock of common torque wheels in varied materials and colors. For years we have worked with cap manufacturers, capper OEMs, and packagers formulating materials to match standard and problem caps.
It is a common practice for suppliers of torque rings to push one material such as urethane, on packagers as the answer to all of their cap tightening problems. Higher durometer rings usually translate into longer wearing rings, but can result in less grab and burning of caps. Softer rings wear more quickly, but are more gentle on the caps. While urethane rings are a good general purpose solution, we also offer our rings made from other non urethane materials in varied hardnesses in order to tailor the rings closer to specific applications. Presence of food and petroleum oils, high gloss or easily marked cosmetic caps, metalic coated caps prone to cracking, and linerless caps which require higher torque are situations where other materials should be considered.
Call us if you are having problems such as scuffing or burning of caps, insufficient torque due to wheel glazing, presence of food or petroleum oil, liner less caps, cracking of metallic finished caps, trigger caps or just want to see if there is a longer wearing ring.
Our shop can provide insets, bevels, custom sizes, and contours to match cap profiles.
Before going back to the equipment manufacturer for some odd size or specialty application part, check with Stiles. We are regularly making tooling to produce parts for imported packaging equipment.
